Ethics and acknowledgements statement
As a researcher, my work is guided by a commitment to socially responsible, inclusive, and integral research practice. I seek to acknowledge the research participants who have donated their data to the studies I've undertaken and always disclose all funding sources and declare any conflicts of interest. My current research is supported by the UK Government and European Union alongside the Leverhulme Trust.
I aim to ensure that all research and group outputs I contribute to use inclusive language and draw on diverse and representative data where possible.
At times my research explicitly explores and advocates for more participatory, community-oriented approaches, especially in relation to technology and governance topics.
My creative practice is informed by an ethics of care approach, and I seek to promote more nurturing masculinities through my public writing and policy work.
There are a few resources I have contributed to and many I have benefited from that have shaped my own research, including:
- The UK Research Integrity Office's equality, diversity and inclusion resources, including their Academic Wheel of Privilege: https://ukrio.org/ukrio-resources/equality-diversity-and-inclusion/academic-wheel-of-privilege/
- This is Gendered: https://thisisgendered.org/
I'd also like to acknowledge past and present mentors who have supported and funded my work, including Robyn Klingler-Vidra, Sir Geoff Mulgan, and Melinda Mills.
